Breakout Session Types
Experience the energy of learning alongside your fellow gifted education advocates! Navigate your own learning path, join important conversations, and explore effective gifted education strategies through giftED’s collaborative and engaging breakout sessions. You’re invited to explore the many ways giftED21 allows you to both learn together and personalize your experience, detailed in the chart below.
Pre-Recorded Session | Engage with your favorite giftED21 content from the comfort of your home or classroom with these pre-recorded sessions. Pre-recorded sessions will be available to all attendees by November 8. Some virtual presenters may host in-person discussions at giftED21. |
Breakout Session | Presented live, in-person at giftED21, this year’s breakout sessions will incorporate attendee interaction and engagement with presentations of evidence-based practices in 45 minute to 1 hour sessions. |
Deep Dive | Dive deeper into a topic of interest with these 90 or 120 minute sessions, presented live and in-person at giftED21. Featuring top speakers, attendees will have the opportunity to explore topics in depth with their peers. |
Energizer Session | Wake up and start your day with these short sessions designed to get you engaged and set your intentions for the learning at giftED21. Sessions include interactive presentations with strategies for your toolbox, important topics like self-care, and even opportunities to move your body before a day of learning! |
Learning Lab | Mix it up and take an active role in your learning with these lab-style sessions led by your peers! Experiment with tried-and-true strategies and tactics and walk away with new methods for serving your gifted learners. |
Model Classroom | Put yourself in your students’ shoes by experiencing gifted education strategies or activities firsthand. Led by master teachers, the Model Classroom will incorporate a high level of attendee interaction and engagement, allowing you to serve as the learner as you explore new methods for your classrooms. |
Campfire Conversation | Take part in expert-led discussions on hot topics and big questions in gifted education. Be prepared to participate and generously contribute to conversation with your peers in these casual, thought-provoking sessions. |
